Professor Yang Guihua and his entourage went to Hangzhou to attend the 1st International Seminar on Nanocellulose Materials

 Prof. Yang Guihua, Associate Professor Han Wenjia, Young Teacher and Dr. Ming Zhao Lin Zhaoyun and 4 people visited Hangzhou from May 19 to May 21, 2017 to participate in the 1st International Seminar on Nanocellulose Materials.

 The two-day conference was attended by more than 200 delegates from eight countries including China, the United States, Canada, Finland, the Netherlands, Japan, South Korea and Malaysia. Prof. Ni Yonghao, a member of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, gave an opening speech. Prof. Derek Gray from McGill University in Canada, Prof. Jiang Xingyu, Director of the National Nanosciences Center, and Professor Orlando J. Rojas from Aalto University in Finland delivered keynote speeches respectively. The main topics of this seminar include: efficient preparation of nano-cellulose materials, morphology and characterization of nano-cellulose materials, modification of nano-cellulose materials, and application of nano-cellulose materials in traditional fields (such as paper and packaging) Products, etc.) Applications of nanocellulose materials in traditional fields (eg rheology modifiers, food additives, coatings, etc.) and applications of nanocellulose materials in emerging fields (eg medical, biological and optoelectronic materials, etc.) . The participants in key laboratories in the lab showed the latest progress in their respective fields of research in the form of posters, and exchanged views with experts and scholars at home and abroad on the characterization, large-scale production, and high value-added use of nanocellulose.

 By attending the seminar, participants met with well-known experts and scholars in the field of nanocellulose, broadened the research fields of pulp and paper engineering disciplines in our key laboratory, and further developed nanofibers for our teachers and students. It laid the foundation for research and international technical cooperation in prime and related fields.
