On October 12, 2017, Dr. Armin Eraghi Kazzaz, a Ph.D. candidate at Lakehead University in Canada, gave a lecture on Pulp and Paper and Bio-Refining for freshman students majoring in papermaking at the School of Paper and Plant Resources Engineering. Armin Eraghi Kazzaz first introduced the humanistic environment, education scale, and academic institutions of Lake Shou University in Canada. He focused on the basic concepts, development reasons and trends of biomass refining, and analyzed the advantages of pulp and paper mills in developing biomass refining. And evaluation, pointed out that the bio-refinery is an extension and extension of the traditional paper industry, which is conducive to the development and rational use of renewable resources. The lectures made freshmen aware of the status quo and development trends of the modern papermaking industry, opened up students’ academic perspectives, and facilitated professional studies in the future.

Armin Eraghi Kazzaz, an Iranian national, is a professor of Pedram Fatehi, a professor of chemical engineering at the University of Lakes, Canada. He is a Ph.D. candidate for the preparation of amphoteric lignin and its use as a flocculant. On September 26, 2017, he was appointed by Pedram Fatehi to our hospital/key laboratory for a one-month academic exchange and visit.

The international perspective is one of the orientations and characteristics of the undergraduate training objectives of our college. The use of special foreign professors in our hospital/key lab to offer courses and lectures for undergraduate students is an effective measure to implement an international perspective.
