On the morning of November 13, 2017, the Academic Committee of the Ministry of Education for Pulp and Paper Science and Technology of Shandong Province/Key Laboratory of Shandong Province was held in Room 356, Administration Building, of our school. Academician Chen Kefu, Academician of the Key Laboratory Academic Committee, and Deputy Director Wang Jianxin of the Department of Basic Research and Science and Technology of the Department of Science and Technology of Shandong Province and more than 10 members from the national pulp and paper industry attended the meeting. Wang Ruiming, Director of the School Science and Technology Division, and leaders in charge of the School of Light and Light Engineering and the Academy, and some key academics of the pulp and paper science and technology key laboratory attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Vice President Cui Lei (vice dean).
Vice President (vice dean) Cui Lei first delivered a welcome speech. The experts were introduced to the basic situation of the school after integration, andthanked the industry experts for their care and help in the development of the laboratory.
Chairman Chen Kefu presided over the academic committee meeting. Professor Xu Feng, deputy director of the Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Education and director of the Shandong Provincial Key Laboratory, made the key laboratory's 2017 annual report, comprehensively reported on various work and performance during 2017, proposed the 2018 work plan, and invited members to participate in Prof. Kong Fangong, the deputy director, summarized the conclusions of the 2011-2014 Key Lab Open Funds, explained the 2017 fund application work, and invited the committee members to review. Academician Chen Kefu, the chairman of the committee, affirmed the fruitful results achieved by the key laboratories in platform construction and scientific research. At the same time, he pointed out the importance of science and technology in the long-term development of the laboratory, stressing that talent cultivation and talent introduction are guarantees for experiments. The important factors for the development of the room to a higher level; Prof. Zhang Meiyun, Prof. Sun Runcang, Prof. Qu Yinbo, and Prof. Qian Xueren fully affirmed the achievements of the laboratory in basic research and hardware construction, emphasizing that key laboratories should Seizing the historical opportunity, grasping the characteristics of regional economy, based on Shandong, facing the whole country, pragmatically innovating, expanding the influence of the laboratory, and better serving the development of the industry; the meeting passed the open-fund application project.
The Deputy Director of Science and Technology Department Wang Jianxin delivered a speech. He expressed his gratitude to the experts for their support for the development and construction of the laboratory over the years. At the same time, he pointed out the opportunities and challenges that the laboratory will face in the future and suggested that it should rely on regional economic advantages to implement scientific research achievements.
