On the afternoon of June 12, 2017, Professor Zhang Mingqiu of Sun Yat-sen University invited Vice Director Kong Fangong to visit and exchange with key laboratories. President Chen Jiachuan received Professor Zhang Mingqiu and Deputy Director Liu Yu of the laboratory attended the meeting. Kong Fangong, deputy director, accompanied Professor Zhang Mingqiu to visit key laboratories, organized key academic symposiums, and had an in-depth exchange with Professor Zhang Mingqiu. Prof. Zhang Mingqiu provided constructive opinions on the issues related to the construction of laboratory talents, laboratory planning and layout, and postgraduate training, and exchanged ideas with the teachers of our school on specific academic issues. Vice President Ding Hongjie, Professor Yang Guihua, Director Han Wenjia, and Dr. Zhang Mingqiu’s doctoral student Xia Nannan attended the event.
Prof. Zhang Mingqiu, currently Director of Institute of Materials Science, School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, Sun Yat-Sen University, Director of the Key Laboratory of Polymer Composites and Functional Materials, Ministry of Education; Part-time at several domestic and foreign academic organizations and publications; Hosting and participating in the National 863 Program Many scientific and technological projects including projects, etc.; Obtained many natural science and technology awards from the Ministry of Education, more than 40 patents, more than 300 papers, and many other scientific and technological achievements; and were selected as the first and second level candidates for the National “Hundred Million Talent Project” in 1999. In March, he was invited by the Cheung Kong Scholar Professor of the Ministry of Education. Has long been engaged in the research and teaching of polymer and polymer composite materials. The research and teaching of plant-based composite materials is closely related to the research contents of our institute/key laboratory. The key laboratory has introduced Dr. Zhang Mingqiu's doctorate. Developing South-South Asia and strengthening cooperation with Professor Zhang's team will help enrich and deepen the research content of our institute/key laboratory.
