From November 24 to November 26, 2017, Ding Hongjie and Lin Zhaoyun, faculty members, went to Guangzhou to attend the “South China University of Technology Alumni Association Board Meeting and Local Alumni Representative Conference”. The meeting was sponsored by the South China University of Science and Technology Alumni Association and all alumni branches to confirm the participants and recommend candidates for the second session of the council. They were recommended by the Jinan Alumni Association of South China University of Technology, and Chen Jiachuan alumni (the principal) were accompanied by the Jinan Alumni Association. The president’s identity was recommended as a director candidate and invited to attend the meeting. Chen Jiachuan alumni (Principal) entrusted Ding Hongjie (Deputy Secretary-General of Jinan Alumni Association) and Lin Zhaoyun (member) to attend the meeting.
On the afternoon of November 25th, the conference was held in the lecture hall on the 2nd floor of Yifu Science Museum, South China University of Technology. The agenda of the conference was 11 items. The main contents included the speech of the school principal Wang Yingjun (an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering). She briefed the school on the development in recent years. Situation: First, the school has successfully entered the world-class universities to build a list of A universities, and four disciplines such as chemistry, materials science and engineering, light industry technology and engineering, and agronomy have entered the list of world-class disciplines. Liu Qilu, deputy secretary of the school party committee and executive vice president of the Alumni Association, made the first report on the work of the council. After reviewing and passing the list of directors and leading members of the 2nd Alumni Association Council, Chen Jiachuan alumni (president) was elected as the council member. The meeting also took pictures such as photo-taking, alumni representatives' presentation, and awarding the “Outstanding Alumni Work Organization Award” and other agendas. After attending the photo of the delegates in the plenary session, Ding Hongjie and Lin Zhaoyun also took photos with the former president of South China University of Technology, the Academician of the Russian Academy of Engineering, and Liu Huanbin, a papermaking professional who attended the conference, and briefed Liu on the development of the papermaking specialty of the school.
By taking the opportunity to participate in the meeting, Ding Hongjie and Lin Zhaoyun were also invited by the executive dean of Kong Fangong to hold talks and gatherings with the teachers and doctoral students of the papermaking specialty of the School of Light Industry Science and Engineering of HMG. According to statistics, there are 14 teachers and 23 doctoral students in the above range. In the discussion and gathering activities, Ding Hongjie first pointed out that today’s participants had two common genes: Qilu Gongda University (Shandong Light Hospital) and South China University of Technology, and briefly introduced the current situation and development expectations of papermaking majors in our hospital.
