On the morning of May 7th, 2018, academician of the Royal Society of Chemistry and Professor of University of British Columbia (UBC) Dr. Zhao Ruhe made a special lecture for teachers and students at the fifth floor of the school library. The lecture entitled “Fiber Study on Temperature Control Efficiency of Temperature Controlled Multi-Emmitor System Based on Kinemyn.

Prof. Zhao mainly introduced the basic concepts of temperature control materials, fiber networks, and nanometer multicomponent eutectics. He also described the necessity and importance of building energy conservation, the mechanism of production of multicomponent eutectic temperature control materials, and trial production, as well as the control of building energy conservation. The analysis of temperature effect and energy-saving effect, and put forward the need for further in-depth research and breakthrough, opened up a feasible path for the application of plant fiber in the construction industry. At the meeting, Professor Zhao briefly introduced the current situation of British Columbia University's engineering disciplines, undergraduate students, postgraduate admissions and training, professor recruitment assessment, and research projects. After the meeting, around the relevant concepts and technical problems of temperature-control materials and the details of students studying abroad, Professor Zhao had exchanges and discussions with teachers and students present. The international perspective is one of the goals and characteristics of the students' training in our college. This special lecture provides academic exchange opportunities for teachers and students of our school and broadens academic vision. It is an effective measure to implement internationalization.

Prof. Zhao Ruhe and his entourage visited our institute (key laboratory) this time, and also conducted in-depth exchanges and consultations on the cooperation between Canada’s  Chave Environmental Research Institute and UBC and our institute (key laboratory). In addition to the leadership of the school (key laboratories) and some of the teachers and students involved in the exchange, Chen Jiachuan, deputy director of Personnel Department Liu Hongming also participated in the exchange, and reached preliminary consensus on some areas of cooperation and methods.(Writer: Qi Letian; reviewer: Ding Hongjie; photo provided by: Qi Letian)
